THE MURRAY RIVER

Not sure who is looking at this blog so I thought i would let you see what is known here in Australia  as the dunny or sometimes called the long drop.
these two specimens where at the last camp we stopped at but there was an alternative which i always used.
sometimes there is not a choice.( this is why you have a toliet in the caravan.)

This is a photo of one of the ferries that cross the Murray river and yes they are free, they run 24hrs a day and can take big trucks as well as the odd caravan that needs to cross the river.

Andreas was playing with his camera the other day
and took this picture.
They had some great trees on this property and this brought all
different kinds on bird life.
It makes such a difference being woken by the birds and not the traffic although the other morning a magpie was trying to get to a piece of bread in a plastic bag that was left outside and was making a hell of a racket.
As you can see from the photo we couldn't be any closer to the water.
There are plenty of great camps along this river and most of them are free to stop at.
