HEADING TO THE COAST IN VICTORIA

Its been a couple of weeks since i have put anything on the blog but we are having problems with our internet server, dont think it is sorted yet but we will see.
Heading along the Great Ocean road in Victoria, lots to see, the weather is still grotty this is not helped by listening to the weather back in Perth.
Very tempted to turn around and go back to the west but if you dont come to Victoria in summer when do you!
Will be in Melbourne for christmas and the new year and from there who knows where,
Hope you like the photo of the sunset, Andreas is very proud of it. We have so many great photos it is hard to pick out just a few to put on the blog.

Went for a walk along the beach and found this kangaroo, it looks very strange to see one not in the bush next to the ocean.
We are staying in a camp site for the weekend and there must be 50 kangaroos outside, got up very early this morning to find two kangaroos boxing right outside our front window. We have seen kangaroos before but never this many os so close.
Will put some photos next time.
Merry christmas to everyone who maybe reading this blog

RENMARK AND MILDURA

We have spent the last three weeks travelling along the murray river now we are going to leave in the morning and head back to the ocean.
Lets hope the weather is a bit more kind than it was three weeks ago but who knows what we can expect seeing as we have now entered into Victoria and as everybody knos the weather here can be very unpredictable.

We went for a trip on this steam paddle boat (The Melbourne ) down the river going through a lock which was good fun and very interesting.
Thought we should have a trip on the river before we get to the coast.

Andreas was having a go at steering the boat, think he has found a new job, he really enjoyed it and they gave him a certificate which made him very happy.
He is planning to post it on his facebook page,

Three weeks to go to Christmas which we are spending in Melbourne, its about 550k , we both looking forward to it.

Trying to get Andreas tickets for the Ashes test but they are not easy to come by, he does love his cricket.

THE MURRAY RIVER

Not sure who is looking at this blog so I thought i would let you see what is known here in Australia  as the dunny or sometimes called the long drop.
these two specimens where at the last camp we stopped at but there was an alternative which i always used.
sometimes there is not a choice.( this is why you have a toliet in the caravan.)

This is a photo of one of the ferries that cross the Murray river and yes they are free, they run 24hrs a day and can take big trucks as well as the odd caravan that needs to cross the river.

Andreas was playing with his camera the other day
and took this picture.
They had some great trees on this property and this brought all
different kinds on bird life.
It makes such a difference being woken by the birds and not the traffic although the other morning a magpie was trying to get to a piece of bread in a plastic bag that was left outside and was making a hell of a racket.
As you can see from the photo we couldn't be any closer to the water.
There are plenty of great camps along this river and most of them are free to stop at.

THE MURRAY RIVER

Here we are camping beside the murray river in south australia.
our camp spot as you can see is right next to the river with lots of bird life.
Pelicans, ducks, magpies and numerous birds that i dont know the names of.
We love having a fire and cooking on the fire too, making the most of the last few days as you can no longer have any fires until April i think becuase of the fire bans.

Its a hard life, as you can see and the weather has inproved now that we are inland and not on the coast.
not sure how far we will stay with the murray maybe another couple of weeks.
moved camp today, travelled the large distance of 20k, still on the river bank but there is phone coverage so it gives me the opportunity to post on the blog.
Discovered this bird in the tree close by to us but we dont know what it is.
They are very hard to see because they look like part of the tree but is great to be up so close to nature.
So if anyone knows send us a message as we
both would like to know.
Will put some more photos on the blog tomorrow.

VICTOR HARBOUR

Victor harbour in SA, great spot. The caravan park was right next to the ocean, only one problem with that was the weather wasn't very good and it was so cold.
Happy hour was cut short because it was too cold to sit outside.
Caught up with some friends that we met up in Exmouth, but we have now gone in different directions.
We are now heading up the murray river, going to spend a few weeks heading up the river.

The weather isn't as cold but looking what the temperatures are back in Perth we do wonder when it is going to warm up.

Going for a walk into town this morning catching the ferry across the river.

This is the picture that didn't come through in the last blog, one of our neighbours checking us out.

YORKE PENINSULA

Spent the weekend at the Yorke peninsula, pretty to look at but the fishing was no good.

Lots of cliffs to walk along but too high to put a line in.

Very few people down here, so we are only staying for the weekend.

Heading towards Adelaide in the direction of the Barossa valleyand the wineries at McLaren Vale.

One of the locals who popped up to have a look
who was making the noise, plenty of Roos around.

THE JOUNRNEY BEGINS AGAIN

Here we are back on our journey. we left home after the grand final and firstly spent some time in Esperance.
It took us only two days to cross the Nullabor. ans so we are now in South Australia.

The top picture was taken in the Clare Valley, its a beautiful area, we are staying in a small village called Auburn.

Yesterday was going to some of the wineries here, needless to say no tea was cooked and we had to go out to eat.
