CURTAIN FIG TREE
It makes a big change from the dusty outback.
We really like this area although it is not as hot , we have arrived at a place called Mereeba,
only 62 k from Cairns, but we are getting power, showers and water for only $15 a night, i think we will be going to Cairns from here as a day trips as it cost up to $46 a night closer to Cairns. By the way we have bought ourselves a car to tow along a little 4x4 , it will make such a difference to us.
We are travelling with a lovely family from New Zealand and we have been going out with them in their car. They are great company and we have lots of fun with them.

BILLABONG
It is very relaxing to be woken up by the birds, lots of diffent types , tried fishing but no luck and the cows decided to wander past much to Bobbys amusement who thought they where big dogs.
We changed our plans to head down to Alice and through the centre till later when its not so chilly at night, so we are going to explore northern Queensland untill the wet season comes, then make a hasty retreat south.
Not sure how much we will get done but we can always come back.
