MORNING TEA FOR BREAST CANCER

We where very lucky to spending time in kalbarri when a morning tea was held for Breast Cancer, $2000 was raised and this came from lots of hard work done by a lady that we met called Pam, it was very successful and I think there was 150 people at the morning tea.It was lots of fun, the ladies here made me very welcome, most of these ladies go to kalbarri at the same time each year.

THE KALBARRI GORGES

This are just a few of the pictures that where taken on our day out in the gorges in the kalbarri national park. We spent a lovely afternoon having a good look around, Bobby was left with some friends that we met at the caravan park, with it being a national park you cant take the dog.
There was a tour through the gorges on a canoe but i didn't think i was fit enough to canoe 15 k.

NOW THIS IS A SUNSET

We sat watching this sunset in kalbarri, it was happy hour and this is the view from the front of the caravan site.
I'm sure this will one of many sunsets we will see as we are on our journey around this very big country.

PINK LAKE NEAR PORT GREGORY

This is the pink lake which gets its colour from bacteria trapped in the salt granules, this provides a rich source of beta carotene. although the lake wasn't that pink on the day we took these pictures.

ANDREAS SEEMS TO THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED (can't think why!)

Greenough

This area is famous for its horizontal trees, this is caused by the wind and as it is so open to the winds from the ocean the trees end up growing along the ground.

fishing in Geraldton

Dennis and Erica came up to see us for the weekend, we went fishing on the sunday morning, caught a couple but the blow fish where everywhere. Although there was plenty of rocks and we all lost lines and floats so called it a day and went home for breakfast.

spot the kangeroo

This kangeroo came bouncing through in the morning, Andreas tried to get a bit closer but he didn't stay around long.

On the road.

This was taken when we where travelling between kalgoorlie and Geraldton. We stopped at a look out, it turn out we where the only ones there. Andreas lit the fire and we cooked dinner over the flames. It was a clear night so there was plenty of stars in the sky, its so dark out here and very quiet during the night.

We went on a tour down a gold mine, didn't find any gold but it was very interesting. Didn't think i would get Andreas underground but he enjoyed it then we watched a gold bar worth $40,000 being poured. Will show you that in the next picture, Andreas showed me how to put pictues on the site but i have got to learn how to put more than one at a time. Have got internet at the moment that is why i have been able to put quite a few on a once, sometimes it is many days before we have any coverage.

As you can see this was no matchbox truck.

Kalgoorlie

This is the superpit in kal, you dont get the full impression about how big it is, the trucks look like matchbox toys from the top.
